Cremation / Burial

Most everyone is familiar with a “Traditional Burial or Cremation Service” usually structured around the following elements:

  • Transfer deceased from place of death to the funeral home for preparation
  • Time is set aside to view open or closed casket, usually the evening before or day of service
  • A public or private ceremony in the venue of choice is followed by burial or cremation and a reception

Memorial Service / Celebration of Life

The casket is not present in this form of service, but the service is structured around these elements:

  • Transfer of deceased from the place of death to the funeral home for preparation
  • Viewing for family, if the family so wishes
  • Public/private ceremony in the venue of choice typically followed by a reception
  • Committal Service for burial takes place in cemetery of choice

Simple Disposition / Graveside Service

No Formal Service the funeral home is involved with, but includes these elements:

  • Transfer of deceased from place of death to the funeral home
  • Viewing for family may be arranged if the family so desires
  • Immediate burial/cremation takes place in a cemetery

Nearly everyone experiences the death of a close family member or friend. It is a time of decision making, often in the midst of deep sorrow and grief. Whether or not it is fully appreciated, the death of a loved one usually sets into motion a number of social, religious and psychological forces. But, these difficult events have a way of bringing family and friends together to share memories and offer each other strength and support.
