Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved Albert – husband, father, grandpa (Amp) and brother – surrounded by family on July 28, 2012 at Powell River General Hospital.
Albert is survived by his wife Monica, sons Gerard (Corey) and Gregory (Gina), grandchildren Spencer, Carly, Cassidy, Torry, Blair and Brett Martin, sister Vivian Kaban, many nieces, nephews and cousins in Italy, California, Toronto and Victoria and many sisters- and brothers-in-law. He was predeceased by his parents Girolamo and Amalia, brother Dino and sister Louise.
Albert was a kind-hearted man with a great sense of humour. He was well known and respected in the logging industry with a career spanning almost 50 years. Many of his working years were spent with Mahood Logging and Weldwood of Canada. In 1985 Albert started A.G.G. Logging with his sons before retiring at age 62.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to Dr. Hoffert, Dr. Humphreys and the nurses at Powell River General Hospital. A special thank you to Dr. Barry MacDonald who was his primary physician for many years.
Prayers will be held Wednesday, August 1 at 7 pm at Church of the Assumption. Mass of Christian burial will be held Thursday, August 2 at 1 pm, followed by reception at St. Joseph’s Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
