Alexander James Antolovich

February 8, 1988 - January 31, 2018

Tribute

We are overwhelmingly saddened to announce the passing of our beautiful son and brother, Alexander James Antolovich, in Powell River, BC on January 31, 2018. His love was our greatest gift and we are very grateful to have shared in his life for almost 30 years. Born on the crisp, sunny day of February 8, 1988, in Kapuskasing, Ontario, Alexander was a joyful, gentle and sweet little baby boy with a bright future and a supportive, loving family. Alexander absolutely adored growing up in Powell River from the time he was two years old; many happy hours were spent fishing and beachcombing, and he played the guitar beautifully. He was passionate about nature and his menagerie of pet turtles, hamsters, a guinea pig, and of course, his puppy Sherry, and curiosity often drove him to be in the unsanctioned possession of a snake, alligator lizard or giant bullfrog. Over the years, Alexander grew into an intelligent and hardworking young man whose kind and generous spirit touched many friends, family members and strangers in need of support or a helping hand. After graduating from high school, Alexander moved away to pursue work and further education. During this time, Alexander studied at SAIT in Calgary and then at SIAST in Saskatchewan. After receiving his certificate of qualification in power engineering, Alexander returned home to Powell River, where he was proud to begin his career as a power engineer at the mill. Alexander’s last moments were spent at the family home – a place where he felt safe, comfortable and dearly loved. He is survived by his parents Margaret and Edi, his siblings Mark and Mary, and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Alexander was predeceased by his loving grandparents Terry and Tony Coady and Rosa and Zenone Antolovich. Thank you to our friends and family for all their love and support during this difficult time. A private celebration of life will be arranged for a later date. In Alexander’s memory, donations to Powell River Salmon Society are welcome.
