Alexander Robert Holstine

Tribute
Alex was born in Runnymeed, Saskatchewan, on January 19, 1920, and passed away at the age of 96 in Powell River on October 15, 2016. He was predeceased by his son Wayne (25 years old) in 1973. Left to mourn Alex are his wife of 71 years Marion, daughter Janice (Horst Abelmann, deceased), sons Barry (Barb Jackson) and Glenn (Bev Gustafson), grandchildren Rayna Guevara (Brandon), Stefan Holstine (Kate Williams), Carlee Holstine (Lucas Brettell) and Evan MacFarlane and great-grandchildren Jessica, Deven and Mikayla.
Alex has one surviving sister, Laura Mustard, and sister-in-law Alice Henderson, as well as many nieces, nephews and friends of many years.
No service by request. Donations may be made in Alexís name to a charity of your choice.
Our family would like to thank the doctors, nurses, staff and volunteers at Evergreen Care Unit for the love and care of Alex during his time there. Also a kind thank-you to Pat at Stubberfield Funeral home for his care and attention.
