Tribute
It is with great sadness that we annouce the passing of Andrew Balzan after battling cancer. Andrew is survived by his loving wife of 47 years Gracie, children Carmen (Pat), Jesmond (Lori), five grandchildren Carleen, Kelsey, MacKenzie, Payton and Reid, and brothers and sisters and their families in Malta. He will also be missed by his in-laws, and nieces and nephews here in Powell River. He was predeceased by his father Carmelo and mother Josephine.
Andrew was born in Malta and worked in the dockyard until he immigrated to Canada in 1969. He worked at the mill until retirment in 1998. He was a family man who loved spending time with his children and especially his grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time in his garden with his flowers.
Andrew was a strong and courageous man right until the end of his life.

Andrew was a very decent person with a good sense of humor. He had lots of friends and I am sure that his family, both here and in Malta will miss him very much.

Nannu was a very happy man, he was always so upbeat and happy.
He will be missed greatly and we know now that he is without pain and is watching us from above. He loved us all very much. Love you Nannu.
