Antonietta Canil April 17, 1934 – January 24, 2018 It is with deep sorrow and broken hearts that we announce the passing of our mother and nonna, Antonietta Canil, on January 24, 2018. Antonietta was born Antonietta Ines Tedesco in Chions, Pordenone, Italy, on April 17, 1934. She was the second of eight children. At the tender age of 22, she moved to Powell River in 1956 to start a new life with her husband Filippo Canil as a young bride in a new country. Antonietta was married on February 11, 1956. She was a loving wife, mother and nonna who always put her family first and was always there for everyone. She was kind beyond words, loving and generous, and she had the most fabulous sense of humour; her smile and laugh would light up the entire room and it was immediately contagious. Antonietta was talented in everything she touched, especially her garden. She loved being outside and working in her garden as it brought her great serenity. Her freezer would always be full from her season’s harvest. Antonietta was predeceased by her husband Filippo, her brothers Italo, Ernesto and Ennio, and her sister Alida. She leaves behind her children Leo, Enzo (Corena) and Rita, grandchildren Kailey, Kevin, Ashley, Jordan, Jared, Calvin, Tristan, Ebony and Ashton, and great-grandchild Beau. The family wishes to extend its gratitude to Doctor Evans, Doctor Takhar and all nurses and care aids who took care of Mum in her final days. Sempre sarai nei nostri cuori.
