Berith Stieben December 27, 1925 – April 26, 2018 It is with profound sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Berith Stieben on April 26, 2018 at the Powell River General Hospital, at the age of 92. She was predeceased by her husband Alex Stieben, son Richard Semeniuk and brother Elwyn Williams. She leaves behind her daughter Gail Clements (Naveen), sisters Alwena Stieben and Gwen Gerbrandt, step-children Grant Stieben (Lorie), Hope Warris (Dave), Wendy Lee, Rick Stieben (Laur) and Darlene Bleiler (Dwight), a number of grandchildren and great-grandchildren, nephews, nieces, friends and family, to mourn for her. Berith was born in 1925, in Carmarthen, South Wales. The family moved to Canada a few years later and settled in Petersfield, Manitoba. She taught elementary school for many years and raised 2 children in Narol, Manitoba. Berith then met and married Alex Stieben in 1983 in Powell River and has been a resident there ever since. She had a very gentle and kind disposition that touched many who crossed her path. She was an active volunteer at the Econo Thrift Shop for several years. In keeping with her express wishes, Berith was cremated and a Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Powell River General Hospital Foundation.
