Tribute

Beryl passed away peacefully on September 11, 2011. She was predeceased by her first husband Stan Willes, and her sons Rod and Tony. She is survived by her loving husband Gord, and faithful daughter Cheryl (Marvin) Nyl as well as grandchildren, greatgrandchildren and extended family.
Beryl was born in Victoria. As a young woman she completed her training at the Provincial Normal School in 1945 and taught in Uclulet and on Texada Island. Beryl, her husband and five-month old daughter moved to Texada in 1949 to open a butcher shop. She lived the rest of her days on Texada as an active and respected member of the community.
She leaves behind many longtime friends with fond memories. In lieu of flowers a donation in Beryl’s honour may be made to a charity of your choice. There will be a celebration of her life on Saturday, September 24 from 12:30 – 2 pm at the Royal Canadian Legion, Texada Branch.
