Tribute

Boon was born in Vientiane, Lao. He was a very loving, giving and generous person. He survived the Vietnam war, where he served for the Americans, and where his only brother died. He walked the Ho Chi Minh Trail. Boon was raised by his mother and grandmother in Lao. He escaped to Canada with his wife and children. Boon is survived by his sons Chieng, Champa and Pan, his daughter Phouieng and five grandchildren. He worked for the school board in Castlegar, BC, for 30 years while he made sure he gave his children a better opportunity in life. He moved to Powell River in 2004 after his retirement. Boon loved the outdoors, flying in his paraglider and socializing with people. He loved his dog Cody who is now 13 years old. Boon was a unique and amazing man. He will be greatly missed by close friends and family. I will never forget you, my good friend. We will always love and remember you. Boon passed away peacefully in his sleep. No service by request.
