Brian Harold McIlravey

June 2, 1952 - January 24, 2025

Tribute

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend Betty; his children who deeply miss him Brandy (Corey), their children Alexander, Sydney and Chloe: Kathren (Bob), their children Marissa, Makayla, Maeva; and Brent (Jaime) as well as his siblings Debbie, Murray, Darlene, Cindy, Sheila and Linda.

He is predeceased by his son Lance, parents Barb, Nancy and Bob also his siblings Terry, Dave, Billy, Jack, half brother Billy, Jeannie, nephew Neil and niece Brianne.

Born June 2, 1952 in Midland, ON, Brian passed away surrounded with love at home with family by his side January 24, 2025.  Brian moved to Powell River at the age of 10 where he attended school and eventually began a career in the logging industry working for Alice River Logging.    Brian then transferred to the Powell River MacMillan Bloedel mill where he continued his career for 34 years, retiring in 2007.

Once retired he was able to enjoy taking long coffee breaks with his favorite four legged friends Bentley and Mac.  He enjoyed being a volunteer firefighter at the Wildwood Firehall for many years.  Helping people was just a part of his nature.  He always made sure people were taken care of and knew they were loved and cared for.  Volunteering at the Powell River Kings door greeting everyone with a smile and a quick witty remark as he took their tickets was a highlight of his week.

Some of his hobbies included rebuilding vehicles, fishing, camping at Haywire Bay and cutting the grass!

His favorite times were spent with family and friends.

He will be missed by so many.

It’s not goodbye, it’s until we meet again…

Special thanks to qathet Genral Hospital  ER staff and fourth floor staff, dialysis staff, Sandy and Adrian, Dr Meyer. Dr. Musini, Dr. Hams, BC Ambulance Service, VGH staff and many more.
