Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother. She lost her short but courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by her family.
She was predeceased by her parents Charles and Doris Wild, and sister Connie Jean Wild. She is survived by her daughters Connie (Dan) Emmonds, Trish (Pete) Hutchison, Donna (Frank) Gassen, Joyce (Jason) Lennox, and her brother Tom (Margaret) Wild. She also leaves behind nine grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and two nephews.
No traditional service by request, however a family gathering will take place in Okotoks, Alberta where she will be laid to rest with her mother and sister. If desired, donations to the Powell River Therapeutic Riding Association or the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
We love and miss you dearly Mom, and you will live on forever in our hearts and memories.
LIFE IS LIKE A STRAND OF PEARLS
Over many years, oceans ebb and flow
Inside an oyster, a pearl begins to grow.
One day the oyster opens, and the pearl is there to see
Time has passed, work’s been done, the future yet to be.
Take it from the shell and hold it in your hand
And all will be revealed, as you wash away the sand.
Both the beauty and the flaws, have their stories they can tell
As nature worked its magic, from inside the oyster’s shell.
Put it in your pocket and keep it for yourself
Or put it in a box and up upon a shelf.
But a pearl should not be hidden, or stand upon its own
It should be strung with others, instead of left alone.
By stringing all the pearls, there is no right or wrong
Like families stay together, it’s what keeps and makes us strong.
Each one of us is like a pearl, beauty, flaws and all
We need to have each other, to help us when we fall.
We should treasure what we have and face what life can bring
And hold each other close, like the pearls upon a string.
Life is like a strand of pearls
Precious each and every one……..
