Christopher Peter Ellis

September 24, 1946 - April 14, 2020

Tribute

Chris also known as Tiny was born September 24th 1946 on Vancouver Island. He spent his years growing up in Vancouver, working at the age of 16 on the Vancouver Waterfront.
He retired from DP World in 2009 after working on the waterfront for 44 years, and moved up country to Kitwanga, BC.
After 7 years there then moved to Powell River where his mother and her siblings were born.
Chris loved Powell River and was happy here until his health took a turn. He was taken to Vancouver February 28th 2020, where he succumbed to a renal failure in April 2020.
Warm, loving husband and friend and will be missed dearly by many.

Chris is survived by his wife of 22 years, Sharon, two daughters, Maria(Pat), & Jodi. Step sons, Warren (Sherry) & Shawn (Stephanie). Two grandchildren, Michael & Rosa as well as 9 step grandkids and 2 step great grandkids.
Three brothers, Rick, Michael (Diane), Larry (Cris), many nieces & nephews, his aunt Marion Hardy and many friends.

Preceding Chris in death were his parents, mother-in-law and a sister.
His two Border Collie’s as well.

Chris’s great grandfather Alexander Bell was a pioneer of Powell River and is buried in the cemetery here, as well as his grandmother and an uncle.

A memorial will be held later in the year in Powell River, BC when it is ok to do so.

It was always a pleasure to work with Chris. His gruff nature was, to me, his bark. Rarely did he bite. But when he did….

We will miss this man who became a great friend and confidant over the years. His tough exterior was overshadowed by his huge heart and caring attitude. I am missing our phone calls and going back to the old days. RIP Tiny! Dave (The Preacher)
