Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved father, Claude.
Claude was born in Amos, Quebec to Emanuel and Lydia Rivest. He married Stephana Venne on October 14, 1950 and then moved his family to Powell River in the May of 1965. He was a long standing member of the Club Bon Accueil de Powell River. He is survived by son, Michel, daughters, Elyane (Bruce), Sylvie (Paul) and Claudette; dear friend Stephana; brothers, Patrick, Real, Gaston, Abel, Ernest and Yvon; sisters, Gisele and Gabrielle; 7 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren; good friends Marcel and Terese Legault, as well as many other nieces, nephews and friends. We would like to thank all the people that helped Claude in his time of need at Powell River General Hospital and especially Gisele and Abel for the continued patience. There will be a celebration of life held at 1pm, Wednesday, February 15, 2012 from the Club Bon Accueil de Powell River, 5110 Manson Avenue. There will be a reception to follow. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the foundation of your choice. I was saddened to hear of Mr. Rivest’s recent passing. I rented his basement suite from him about 15 years ago. Although I am sure I was not the ideal tenant at the time, he was the kindest, most understanding landlord I have ever had. I moved away from Powell River when I left his apartment and always wondered how he was doing. I moved back to Powell River approximately three years ago and always meant to visit him. I am very sorry I never did. My heart goes out to his family and friends. I am very sorry for your loss.
