Tribute

Daryl left us suddenly for his next adventure on September 18, 2016, at the young age of 68.

He was born and raised in Powell River, a town he loved, and worked all of his adult life at the mill. His dedication advanced him to purchasing manager, the job of his dreams. Daryl lived by his own rules. He was a man of integrity, fierce loyalty and honesty. He believed in hard work and good fun. He always had a healthy dose of both in his life and did his best to do things right.

Daryl’s ultimate passion was fishing and he excelled at it! He was also a boater, a “boat mechanic,” an outstanding chef, a scotch connoisseur and the best martini maker ever.

Daryl was a loving husband to Glynis Romanica, a dad to Tania (Wes) Brown and Jason (Angela) Poole, stepdad to Amber (Clemens) Riedl and Chelsea (Chris) Burwash, Kookpa to Rhys Poole and Tai Brown, Gramps to Abby and Olivia Poole, Paul and Elias Riedl, ‘Ampa to Alyssa Burwash, brother to Michael (Sandra) Poole, uncle to Nicholas and Naomi and families and doggy dad to Rico. 

Daryl was predeceased by his parents Cecil and Vera Poole and his canine fishing buddies Scooter and Karma. He was a good friend to many and his leaving has created a void impossible to fill.

A celebration of his life will be held in the Pow Wow room at the Beach Gardens Resort from 4-7 pm on Saturday, September 24.
