David “Cookie” Edgar Brown
March 22, 1953 – November 10, 2018
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of David on November 10th, 2018 at Powell River General Hospital after a long courageous battle with Cancer.
David was born in Burnaby and moved to Powell River at the age of 2 1/2 years old. David’s 37 year career at the Powell River mill began as soon as he left school. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and walks with his pal Joey.
David was predeceased by his father Roy and his first wife Karen.
Left to cherish his memories are his mother Rosemarie, loving wife of 17 years Debbie, brothers Gary (Casey), Brian, Glen (Kathy-Jo) and step-children Troy (Jill) Jaggard, Darlana (Kelly) Knox, Jennifer (Len) Burnett, Shawn (Tarra) Swanson. He is also survived by his grandchildren Karla, Ryan and Erik Jaggard, Kristi, Lindsey and Brandon Knox, Shanelle and Telsyn Fitzgibbon, Kyana and Garner Burnett, Kiera Welp and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, friends and extended family.
Special thank you to Dr. Strydom, Dr. Takhar, Dr. Burns, Dr. Evans, Janet in Oncology, ambulance attendants, Emergency staff, nurses on 4th floor and the Drs. at the BCCA.
In keeping with Dave’s wishes, there will be no funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Powell River Hospital Foundation, Oncology Unit.
