Tribute
The last origami butterfly has been folded.
The last fragrant rhododendron sniffed.
The last walk taken to the Stillwater Bluffs.
David left this world as graciously as he lived in it.
He saw the beauty in nature and wild places and gave us the gift of his vision.
David will live on in these places and in the hearts of all of us who knew him and were so blessed by his gentle presence in our lives.

Dear Marylou, Reed and Sarah, I am so sorry to hear of the loss of David. I want you to know that I have always regarded David as a special man. He made huge a differences in my life with the support he gave me through the RRAP grant. This may seem small, however it was anything but that. I was priveleged to know such a fine Man. I am sending condolences. David was a teacher in so many ways. I remember when he told me about his vision to turn the old dump into a beautiful garden. What a brilliant vision! And I treasure his origami butterflies. I had a dream about him last week, and he told me that we all emerge from our coffins like butterflies!
