Delores Carnwright

Tribute
Delores Carnwright was an accomplished poet. She published two books of poetry and wrote for many magazines. She was a free spirit, beloved by all who knew her.
She was born in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan to Robert & Mable Dortmund. When Delores was two years old, her parents joined the many pioneering families moving to the Peace River Country. They settled near Grande Prairie, Alberta and she and her six siblings grew up on the farm there. In 1934, Delores moved to Portland, Oregon and studied to be an LPN. She worked in the hospital there for many years. In 2000, she moved to Kelowna to be near her beloved family. She will be sadly missed by a large and loving extended family.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 23, 2018 at the Rutland Seventh Day Adventist Church, 130 Gerstmar Road, Kelowna. Burial to follow in Kelowna Memorial Park Cemetery.

Your many acts of kindness, encouraging words, lovingly prepared meals, cards of condolence, floral tributes, donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation and calls of support continue to be a great comfort to us. We also send our gratitude and thanks to the Staff at Kelowna General Hospital, Dr. Timothy, Dr. Bell and Mr. Lorne Paisley and the wonderful staff at Rustic Funeral Services.
