Donna Maureen Smith

November 21, 1946 - June 6, 2022

Tribute

Donna was born and raised and went to school in Vancouver.  After several years spent in Toronto and Ottawa she returned to the west coast, to Vancouver.  On retirement 7 years ago she settled very happily in Powell River.

Donna worked as an Executive Assistant in a range of interesting places, from the Art Gallery of Ontario, to  corporate barter, and most recently retiring from a position at the College of Physicians and Surgeons in BC.

Donna’s interests were evident in the support she gave to organizations like Eco Justice and Amnesty International.  She also followed programs and organizations that supported animal rescue.

Her knowledge of films and current global and local politics was extensive and made for many vibrant and wide ranging chats, often at a particular picnic table overlooking the ocean.

Donna will be missed.

She’s survived by sisters Patricia and Lyla, and her niece Elsa, with whom she shared a lovely bond.
