It is with great sadness this Christmas season that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Dorothy Francis Irene Thiesen. Mom passed away surrounded by love and family on December 20. She turned 94 on November 8, 2018. Mom was predeceased by her husband Isaac, daughter Evelyn, her parents Frank and Mary Helen Muss and all her siblings. Dorothy was also predeceased by sons-in-law Bill Powell and Chuck Boisvert. She will be missed by all her children Larry, Doug, Judie, Geri, Danny, Dennis, Julie, Doreen and Ivan, as well as many grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren. A celebration of life will be held in the spring, Mom’s favourite season. In lieu of flowers, donations to Operation Smile at operationsmile.ca, Mom’s favourite charity, or a charity of your choice would be appreciated. Thank you to everyone who cared for Mom the last couple of years: home care, nurses, doctors and staff at Powell River General Hospital during her short stay. The celebration of life will be announced at a later date.
