Relation: New neighbour
My husband and I have known Duncan for a very short time as a new neighbour so it is with sadness we lose a good one as we are sure we would have become good friends. Condolences to his sister Rae.

Relation: Workmates
I worked with Duncan for many years at London Drugs. A very patient and steady guy you could depend on to not only help you with your issue but also teach you the how and why’s so you could troubleshoot for yourself next time. He will be remembered fondly!

Relation: I collaborated with Duncan for many years at London Drugs
I was deeply saddened to hear about Duncan’s passing.
Duncan worked in IT at London Drugs and collaborated closely with our DSC User Support team. He was always generous with his time and knowledge, and his support helped shape how our team operates today. Many of the efficiencies and confidence we have in supporting the warehouse are a direct result of what he shared with us. His influence is part of our day to day work and will continue to be felt.
He had recently retired and was enjoying spending time on small projects at his new home in Powell River, a well earned chapter that he truly deserved.
Beyond his expertise, I will always remember his dry sense of humor. It had a way of catching you off guard and making the day a little lighter.
Not long ago, we went for lunch with another colleague, and I had the chance to tell him how much his knowledge sharing meant and what a privilege it was to work with him. I am grateful I got to say that.
He will be missed, both professionally and personally.
My condolences to his family, friends, and everyone who had the chance to work alongside him.
Rest in peace, Duncan.

Condolences. I worked with Duncan for many years and was saddened by his sudden passing. I will always remember Duncan for phrasing bug issues as new features. Rest in Peace.

Relation: Co-worker
I was deeply saddened to hear about Duncan’s passing. He brought so much warmth, humour, and kindness into our workplace, and his presence genuinely made the days better. He had a way of connecting with people that felt effortless, and he’ll be remembered not just for his work, but for the laughter and lightness he shared so freely. My thoughts are with Duncan’s family, friends, and everyone who had the privilege of knowing him. Rest in peace Duncan.

Relation: Coworkers & Beer Brothers
If anyone had earned a long and relaxing retirement it was Duncan, he is good people. We were making plans to bring my trailer up to camp in his driveway for a few days this summer. I will miss our tool talks and was really looking forward to experiencing his newly built workshop. My co-worker, my mentor, a fellow tinkerer, a master prankster, the Batmobile & the Clown Car sharing 1 parking space, so many smiles & a whole lot of laughter. My beer brother, you are missed more than you would believe. When we meet again the first round is on me. Rest easy my Friend.

“Suddenly, you were gone
From all the lives you left your mark upon…”
That lyric came to mind when I heard of Duncan’s passing. He did leave his mark on everyone who knew him. I will always remember and remain envious of the four monitor setup at his desk. But more importantly, I will always remember him for his ability to lighten up the room with a quip or two…
“It’s an undocumented feature…”
My condolences to the family. Duncan was one of the good guys.

Relation: Coworker
Duncan and I worked together for only a brief time (a couple of years or so) but in that time I cherished his sense of humour, his friendliness, his wealth of knowledge on IT and tech-related subjects, and most of all: how he was genuinely himself. Dunkie: one of a kind… and the cultural impact he had for us on the Desktop and First Response teams is still felt today, years after he’d moved on to retirement. I was looking forward to the next beer meet-up when I heard the news he’d passed.
We shared an affinity for music. He even bought a turntable off of me. And I’ll always miss his tunes blasting in the lab as I went in and out to work on PCs.
Rest in peace, Dunkie! You are, were, and will be, sorely missed by your IT family!
