Edward Laurence McKew

May 21, 1936 - September 15, 2022

Tribute

With great sadness we announce the passing of our dad, Ed McKew on September 15, 2022.

Ed was pre-deceased by his beloved Kathy, brothers Harland and Richard, sister Margaret, and long-time companion Marg.

He is survived and dearly missed by his children Heather (Richard), David, Megan (Scott), granddaughters Stevie (Aaron), Laura (Elliott), Rachel (Matt), and great grandson little Arthur.

Ed was born in Beausejour, Manitoba in 1936.  From Pine Falls, Manitoba in 1962 he brought his bride Kathy and young family to Powell River to work as a machinist in the MacMillan Bloedel pulp and paper mill.

Ed loved his house, cats, gardening (famous for his tomatoes), hunting, building beautiful wood furniture, and touring the country in his truck and camper.  Those who new Ed, new that he was a very colorful guy who “Loved” to talk and had the best “Smile”.

Our special thanks go to the wonderful staff at Evergreen ECU.  We feel truly blessed that our dad was surrounded by and cared for by such amazing, thoughtful and caring people who are definitely angels in our eyes!  You are forever in our hearts.

We love you Dad.
