It is with great sadness that the family of Elizabeth Mary Johnson announces her peaceful passing, surrounded by her family, on May 31, 2021.  Liz was born on May 14th, 1949 in Brandon, Manitoba and died in Powell River, British Columbia. Left to mourn her loss are her husband of 43 years, George, her daughters Sarah (Adam), Claire (Chris), and Anna (Rob), and her sister Nancy Way (Bryan). She was predeceased by her sister Susan, her mother Margaret Nimmo, and her father Earl Sutherland.  She spent most of her life working and raising her family in Calgary, Alberta and moved to Powell River to retire in 2020. Liz was a wonderful mother, wife, and friend, a gifted musician, and a much-loved voice teacher. She was a skilled knitter, creating beautiful Cowichan sweaters for loved ones, and enjoyed painting water colour landscapes by the ocean. Her final year was spent enjoying the beauty of Powell River with George – she loved the mild winter, the early spring flowers, and looking out at the water from their oceanfront property.  Our gratitude is extended for the many kindnesses from the caring and compassionate staff at Vancouver Coastal Health Home Care and the Powell River General Hospital.  A celebration of life will not be held at this time.
