Tribute

Evelyn passed away at home on June 25, 2013 after several years of declining health. She had partially recovered from a stroke in 2007 but was unable to get back to the busy routine she was used to.

Evelyn is survived by her two sons Robert (Lorraine) of Powell River and Mark (Jenny) of Mission, BC, five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her sister Barbara, brother Russell and many extended family members. She was a “people” person, always hospitable and attentive to the needs of others and concerned about their welfare. She was a prolific letter writer and except for the last few months, continued regularly to send out cards and letters to friends and family. As her health waned she used the phone to keep in touch.

Mom’s strong faith helped her to cope with daily struggles and gave her a positive view of the future. She passed away with the hope of one day being resurrected to paradise here on earth.

Sincere thanks go out to many who included Mom by visiting, calling or writing. Her mind was clear and sharp right to the last so she thrived on your interest and kindness. Thanks also to the many Home Support workers who contributed to her needs over the past few years.
