Frances Rae Horspool (née Kent) March 9, 1930 – October 21, 2018 It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our mother Fran, on October 21, 2018. Fran was predeceased by her beloved husband Richard (Dick) Horspool. Fran was born and raised in West Vancouver where she met Dick in High School. They married in 1953 and moved to Powell River, a decision they never regretted. Fran made many life-long friends, as they were very active participating in the community, boating and spending time on Savary Island. They were happily married for 57 years. Fran is survived by her three children; Janet, David and Chris, wonderful grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fran provided us with her gift of laughter, a loving soul and many amazing meals. Our fondest memories are of her cooking, reading, knitting, going to bridge with her friends, and having deep conversations to solve the world’s problems. The family would like to thank Jack Grantham for the wonderful companionship he shared with Fran, and the staff of Evergreen Lodge for the compassionate and attentive care they provided Fran in her final years. At Fran’s request there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Fran’s memory to the Powell River Hospital Association.
