Frank Lionel Axen

October 17, 1932 - January 5, 2016

Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Frank. He was predeceased by his loving wife Mary in June 2000.

Frank leaves behind his stepson Les (Trish) Brindise of Brisbane, Australia, stepdaughter Margaret (Tom) Reckenberg of Powell River, granddaughters Anne-Marie (Owen) Soroke, Marnie Reckenberg (Tobias Liebelt) and Cathy Reckenberg and great-grandchildren Victoria, Rebecca and Joshua. He is also survived by his brother David Axen, sister Iris Henslowe and cousin Arne (Laila) Axen.

Frank was a proud member of the Plumbers Union for 50 years. He worked in the trade, was an inspector for City of Vancouver and later taught at technical school. He retired after working at Burrard Shipyard.

During his battle with Parkinson’s disease, Frank was a true gentleman, always showing appreciation to those who cared for him. His smile will be dearly missed.

The family would like to thank all the wonderful, caring staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit.

No service by request. A family gathering will be held at a later date.
