Gladys Irene Blyth

Gladys was born November 20, 1934 in Wadena, SK and passed away at the age of 77, on May 15, 2012 in Powell River General Hospital.
Gladys grew up in Nora, SK, riding to school on a horse and helping on the family farm. She later worked in a tuberculosis sanatorium in Saskatoon. In 1956, she married Thomas Watt in Bralorne, BC and moved to Powell River, where they raised their two daughters, Sandra and Marlene. Gladys enjoyed baking, socializing and music. Recently, family visits and outings were eagerly anticipated.
She was predeceased by her parents John and Ruth Currie, brother Myron, sister Agnes and husbands Tom Watt and Ben Blyth. Gladys is survived by her sisters Evelyn (Mike) of Saskatoon, Myrna of Edmonton, Coral (Maurice) of Edmonton, and brother Wilfred (Sophie) of Saskatoon. She raised and loved her daughters Sandra and Marlene (Keith), and adored her three grandchildren Gina (Devon), David and Justin, and one great-grandson Damon.
A memorial service was held on Friday, May 18 at the Royal Canadian Legion branch #164. In lieu of flowers, donations to Olive Devaud Residence for activities are greatly appreciated.
