Tribute

My heart is broken to share that my wonderful brother, Harmon Robert George, passed away on January 21, 2026.

Born on January 7, 1974, makes him 52 years young. Harmon and I were each other’s protector, we were partner’s in crime, and he was my greatest supporter. We shared a bond that words can hardly describe, filled with laughter, late-night talks, and endless support. He was passionate about hockey, he loved the Vancouver Canucks. He enjoyed riding the bus, as he would do it everyday. Harmon excelled at his job at OneLight and he really enjoyed working there. He would make fire-starter’s and package them. He was really sad when he couldn’t work anymore. Everyone always said and commented that Harmon was lucky to have me, and all I do for him; and all the advocating, care and support I provide for him. Of course, spoil him too. Really, his presence in my life was an amazing gift, and his memory will continue to guide me.

Harmon is predeceased by parents; Hoyt George and Vera Bird. Siblings; Alfred Bird, Garry Bird, James Bird, Robin Bird, Janie Bird, Patricia Bird and Debbie Bird.

He is survived by siblings; Alice McKay (Stan), Loretta Felix, R0bert Bird, George Bird (Lila), Terry Bird (Rand), Martin George and sister-in-law Kim Bird.

There will be two services to celebrate Harmon’s life.

One in Powell River, on February 20, 2026 at Stubberfield Funeral Home from 1-4 PM (7221 Duncan St, Powell River BC, V8A 1W4, 604-485-4112).

Then a second service will be held in the Matsqui Nation on March 7, 2026 at Matsqui First Nations Hall at 5720 Julian Drive, Abbotsford BC, V4X 2H6 (604-826-6145). Starting at 11AM, Burning at 3PM.
