Hazel Christine Spreeuw
April 26, 1944 - September 29, 2015
Tribute
Hazel Christine Spreeuw passed away suddenly on Tuesday, September 29 at the age of 71. She was born in England, April 26, 1944 and immigrated with her mother to Canada as a child.
She is predeceased by her first husband, Van Allen Close, mother and father Alice and Helmut Annuka and brothers Wayne Woods and Chris Annuka. She is survived by her husband, Co Spreeuw, brother Leslie Woods and daughters Nicole and Tanya Close. She will also be greatly missed by her extended family and friends.
Powell River was her home until she married, moved to Vancouver and raised her family. She had a 20-year career as a banker but pursued other interests as well. After 30 years away, Hazel returned home to live on the coast to be with family. She loved traveling with her husband, as well as shopping and working at her daughter’s store where she aspired to be/thought that she was employee of the month.
There was no challenge that Hazel wouldn’t take on. She was courageous, passionate and genuine. She was devoted to her friends and family, always putting others ahead of herself. Her kindness was endless.
Services will be held Saturday, October 10 at Stubberfield Funeral Home at 2 pm and a celebration of life will follow at the Carlson Community Club.

To Co, Nicole & Tanya please except our deepest sympathy. It was our pleasure to have been a very good friend of your wife and Mother Hazel.
