Tribute
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of our Mom, Granny, Great-Granny Hazel Emily Snow. Hazel passed away peacefully on April 8, 2012, Easter Sunday, her 89th birthday, at Olive Devaud Residence.
She was predeceased by her husband Jim Snow, parents Phoebe and Tich Buxton, and numerous brothers and sisters. Hazel is survived by daughter Norma, son Ron (Marva), daughter Debbie, grandchildren Randy, Lori and Tony Hunter; Kyle, Cameron and Connor Fairweather; Michelle Snow; and many great-grandchildren.
Hazel was the eighth child of 14 and grew up in Victoria, where she met and married Jim. They spent many years being posted to various spots around the country and overseas with the Air Force. They finally settled in Powell River in 1961, where they had many good friends and good times.
There will be a celebration of Hazel and Jim’s lives later this summer; an announcement of time and place will be forthcoming.
Special thanks to all the wonderful Nurses, LPNs and Aides at Olive Devaud for the love and kindness that they gave to Mom during her year there and to all of us during her last week. We so appreciate everything you did. You are a wonderful team. Special thanks to Paula, Melissa and Tracy, you were so helpful to us. Thank you to Dr. Toole for many years of great doctoring.
We miss you terribly, Mom. Enjoy the big campground in the sky.
