Helen was born in Beausejour, MB on January 3, 1913 and passed away November 6, 2011 in Powell River, BC at the age of 98 years. She is survived by her sister Elizabeth Abel, very close friend Margaret (Dave) Warren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Michael in 1989. She was a member of the Catholic Womens League for many years and was a life member of the Order of the Royal Purple, Texada Branch. She also loved to volunteer especially for Meals on Wheels and the Heart and Stroke Foundation.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held Thursday, November 10 at 11 am from Church of the Assumption. Prayers will be said Wednesday evening at 6 pm also from the Church of the Assumption. Flowers gratefully declined. Donations may be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of BC and Yukon if desired. Arrangements entrusted to Stubberfield Funeral Home Ltd.

To Helens Family
So very sorry to hear of the passing of Helen. I was her mobile hairdresser for many years in Cranberry and then i contracted my hairdressing out to Olive De Vaud residents for 12 yrs. My moms and her family grew up around Cranberry Lake and Helen and I knew alot of the same people. She was always a pleasure to do, yet I felt bad for her when her health started to decline. Thoughts go out to her remaining family members.
