Tribute

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of “Mom”.

It was a lifetime of adventures with “Dad” in the North and many other locations in Canada.  Her life involved various moves and experiences where she eventually ended up in beautiful Powell River, BC to live out the last years of her life.

She was a very creative, talented individual who taught her kids to do all the things she loved such as knitting, sewing and baking.

She worked at many jobs over her lifetime and especially loved her work as clerk in various shops tending to the public.

In her later years as her health was failing she still enjoyed the many cats, rabbits, garden flowers and her thoroughly read Nora Roberts collection of books she just couldn’t get enough of. These were the little things that she relished along with the wealth of many friends she acquired through craft fairs, bingo and the many events that Powell River afforded her in her later years.  She eventually lived at Willingdon Creek Village in Powell River. There were many hard working staff that cared for “Mom” with the utmost love and dedication in the last years of her life.

We will remember her as the very interesting and vibrant individual who never gave up and affected many people over her lifetime with her vibrancy and resiliency.  She leaves behind her partner in life, Richard Thomas and children Martina, Martin, Melissa, Rick, Lynn and Janis and all of their expanding families. She can now rest in peace and join her sisters in heaven.
