Ian Johnston

January 16, 1935 - August 23, 2021

Tribute

Ian was born in Scotland in 1935. He was sponsored by Mr. Bloedel to come to Powell River in 1957 to work in the machine room of the mill and play in the Powell River Pipe Band. He played for many years and travelled all over Canada and the USA with the band. Ian was also a very successful coach with Little League Soccer and helped the team get to Expo. He was a volunteer firefighter for many years and enjoyed playing golf in his leisure time. Ian leaves behind to morn Ave, his wife of 60 years.
