Tribute
Ida was born in the Netherlands – the eldest of the seven children of Gerrit and Margaret Vlug (Willy, Corrie, Mary, Jack, Henk & Margaret). The entire family immigrated to Canada in 1953, taking up farming in Powell River. Ida married Martinus Slootweg in 1959 and together they had seven children (Cathi, Gary, Clarke, Martin, Peter, Henry David & Adrian). Over the years, seventeen grandchildren were born and most recently 9 ½ great grandchildren. Ida has passed in to the arms of her Lord – her large family and many friends miss her.
