Tribute

Imre was born in Csongrád, Hungary, where he lived and worked on tugs on a river until 1956. He came to Canada during the Hungarian Revolution. His first stop and new home was Williams Lake, BC, where he worked as a welder in a sawmill. It was there he met his wife Ilona Viglasi who was also Hungarian and they gave birth to their first child James.
In the late 1950s they moved to Bralorne, BC, where Imre found work in a gold mine, and where they had their second child Tom. After spending a couple of years in Bralorne, Imre moved his family out to Victoria in the mid 1960s. It was there that Ilona and Imre had their third and final child Ronald.
In 1967 Imre moved the whole family one final time, up to Powell River where he found steady work with MacMillan Bloedel as a welder. He worked there from 1967 until his retirement in 1992.

Left to mourn the passing of their father and grandfather are sons James (Chris), Tom, Ronald (Jennifer) and grandsons Ben and Ethan Viglasi and Brian and Kevin Lucas.
Thank you to all the emergency workers, nurses, Dr. Mann, Dr. Hobson, and friends and family. You were all fantastic and much appreciated in our time of need. No funeral by request.
