Inge Martha Blankenburg

Tribute
It is with saddened hearts we announce the peaceful passing of a wonderful caring mother, Oma and friend. She passed away peacefully in her home with her two daughters by her side. She will be dearly missed by her loving family: Pam, Kelvin, Keaton, Kaela and Kim, Jamie, Cole, Dustin, and Cedar, as well as relatives in Germany. Inge immigrated to Edmonton, Canada, from Germany with her husband Uwe (Bernie) in 1957, where she began her award-winning hairdressing career. In 1966 they began a new adventure and moved their young family to Powell River, where she opened the Hairbenders Salon followed by The Living Den. After many years of doing what she loved, she settled into retirement. The remainder of her life was spent surrounded by family, and travelling the world with her husband. Her kind, caring spirit and warm smile will be greatly missed by everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Our family would like to thank Dr. Marentette for her years of wonderful care. Special thanks to her loving daughter Pam, for being her caretaker and full-time stay at home nurse. Thanks to your special care you blessed us all with an extra year with her.

We met Inge when she moved with her family to Powell River. She was always friendly and helpful to her many customers and friends. A good friend. Pamela and Kim we are truly sorry you had to say good bye, she is at peace now.
