Tribute
It is with great sadness that the family of Iolanda Silvestrini announces her peaceful passing on November 18, 2010. She was predeceased by her loving husband Erminio in 2004 and her son-in-law Larry Thexton in 2008. She is survived by her son Albert (Sherry), daughter Linda, her three grandchildren Jennifer, Gina and Sara and her two great grandchildren Maddison and Mercedes. Also left to mourn are her siblings Antonio and Maria both of Italy, as well as numerous relatives and friends. Iolanda was born in Brugnera, Province of Udine, Italy on February 26, 1925. She moved to Powell River with her husband and son in 1950. Her love of family, friends and gardening were well know. Prayers will be held Novemebr 26, 2010 at 4:00 p.m. at the Church of the Assumption. Mass of Chrisitian Burial will be held Saturday, November 27 at 1:30 p.m. also at the Church of the Assumption. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society, 565 West 10th Ave., Vancouver, BC V5Z 4J4

My heart is saddened to read of the passing of your Dear Loved one. The words written in the obituary are so true when they say that your Mother , Nona, Noni, and Sister was loved by SO many. Such a Gentle Soul with the greenist thumb ever, and the beautiful flowers and ROSES she grew….. were as beautiful as her!!
Memories are so special and bring so much comfort when you need to be close to your loved ones.
