James Allen Hamilton

April 28, 1932 - December 21, 2016

Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Allen on December 21, 2016. He was born in Powell River in 1932 and was predeceased by his parents, James and Francis, and brother Bill.

Allen was a loving husband to Moyra for 63 years and a kind, gentle father and grandfather to daughter Marie Claxton (Phil), son Mike, granddaughters Erin McFee (Doug), Heather Claxton and Robin Cunning (Chris) and six great-grandchildren.

Allen spent many summers with Moyra onboard the Salty II cruising the coast. After retiring from the shipping department in the mill, Allen and Moyra moved to Kelowna where they had many wonderful adventures travelling in their RV. They returned to Powell River to spend their remaining years with family.

To honour Allen’s wishes, no service will be held. In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to Alzheimer Society of BC or Powell River Hospital Foundation.

The family wishes to thank Willingdon Creek Village staff, Powell River General Hospital staff and Doctor Dohm for their kind and compassionate care of Allen.
