Tribute
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jim McDowell. Jim passed peacefully at the Evergreen Extended Care Unit with his family by his side. He is survived by his wife JoAnn (just one month short of their 60th wedding anniversary), son Jamie (Kim), daughter Tammy (Keith) Keddy, grandchildren Jodi (Nick) Mayenburg, Devon Keddy, Cole, Dustin and Cedar McDowell, great-grandchildren Tristan and Ethan Mayenburg, as well as his brother Johnny (Faye) McDowell and many nieces and nephews. Other than a short time spent in the Okanagan as a teenager and a couple of years in Langley after retirement, Jim spent most of his life in Powell River and his working career in the mill as a papermaker and then a supervisor. He loved spending time with his family and his beloved cabin on Powell Lake. If he was not at home “up the lake” is where you could find him. He had a quick wit and a never ending supply of teasing jokes and we will forever miss his sense of humour Special thanks to Dr. Marentette for your loving care and the staff at the Evergreen Extended Care Unit. You guys are amazing! No service by request.
