James Lynwood Jamieson

January 28, 1936 - December 31, 2020

Tribute

It is with a lot of tears and heartache that we rang in the new year with one less Jamieson. Without Jim’s loving wife, Donna, his unexpected and quick battle with pneumonia, Christmas was not to be the same in 2020. Our family was very fortunate and blessed to spend as much time as we needed during his last week. There will be a huge void for his daughter Jacki (Larry) Wolfe, son Rod (Loretta), and Jim’s treasured grandchildren Nicole (Caitlyn) Wolfe and Kaity, Spencer and Natalie Jamieson. Words cannot express our extreme gratitude for the extra special care provided by the paramedics and Powell River General Hospital emergency and fourth floor staff, making Jim’s final week more comfortable for all. Jim powered through all his struggles with his health to live life to its fullest, but after 31 years of defying medical science, this determined man’s body was tired. Extra heartfelt thanks go out to Jim’s extended family, the staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit. The amount of love and care the staff provided over the past five years was never more prominent than when they requested he be moved from the fourth floor, back to his home at the extended care unit during his final hours. Due to the pandemic restrictions and the absence of a celebration, Jim’s grandchildren would like to combine a few loving words: “We are honoured and proud to call you our tenacious and handsome grandpa. We will remember you as the strongest and most inspirational man, who always had a smile for all of us. Such a joy to our family, Grandpa, you will forever be loved and missed.”
