Tribute

We sadly announce the passing of our father John in Powell River. He was predeceased by his parents, all 11 siblings, his wife of 61 years Sophie in 2006, and his great-grandson Lane in 2010.
He leaves to grieve three children, Rick (Elma), Saskatoon, SK, John Jr. (Leona), Sturgis, SK, and Candy (Bruce) Richman, Powell River, 10 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and two great-great- grandchildren. He also leaves a special sister-in-law Natalie Remenda, many dear nieces and nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends.
John was born in Hyas, SK and became a grain farmer. In later years he spent winters in Port Kells, BC before retiring to Lake Cowichan, BC. In 2007, John moved to Olive Devaud Residence in Powell River where he spent three and a half happy years before being transferred to Evergreen Extended Care Unit for his last five months. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
