Tribute
June Roberts passed away peacefully in Evergreen Extended Care Unit in Powell River with family at her side.
She was born on August 30, 1925 in Brockville, Ontario. She was predeceased by her loving husband Frank Roberts. June is survived by four children, son Garry (Joan) Roberts, daughters Karin (Bob) Nassichuk, Doria (Tim) Ogden, Joan Belyea (Bruce Rice) and son-in-law Ted Belyea. She left 12 wonderful grandchildren, Michelle (Jim) Creasey, Kelly, Dennis (Kim) Roberts, David and Michael Roberts, Shereen (Ron) Russell, Brent (Carole) Nassichuk, Ryan (Nadine) Ogden, Shawn (Anna) Ogden, Brad (Sarah) Ogden, Barb (Geoff) Thody, Greg Belyea (Danica Work), and 13 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her brothers Elmer, Harold, Roy and Fred Hewitt and greatgranddaughter Brooke Russell. Her surviving brother is Bill Hewitt.
We would like to thank Dr. Dougan, Dr. Maree, nurses, caregivers and activity coordinators at extended care who gave our mom the best care for the last two years. We would like to thank mom’s faithful friend Lydia Young for her morning visits. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, August 16 at 11:30 am at Evangel Pentecostal Church with tea to follow. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Parkinson’s Society of BC, #600 – 890 West Pender Street, Vancouver, B.C. V6C 1J9 or Evergreen Extended Care Unit in Powell River.
