Karan Hunter

January 6, 1941 - February 17, 2013

Tribute

Karan passed away peacefully in Powell River General Hospital. He was born and raised in Port Alberni and moved to Powell River in 1965 where he apprenticed and worked in the mill as a Millwright until he retired in 2001.

Karan was predeceased by his precious daughter Jennifer who passed away from cystic fibrosis in 1998. He was a founding member of Powell River’s local cystic fibrosis chapter and continued to believe in its good work until the day he passed. Karan was a volunteer fireman at No. 2 fire hall for many years. He loved boating and spent many happy years in his much loved cabin up Powell Lake.

Karan is survived by his wife of 49 years Cherrie, son Steve and four grandchildren Marissa, Bryce, Jordan and Lauren. Karan also has one sister Kathleen who resides in Abbotsford.
