Larry Doyle Borland

August 6, 1941 - October 16, 2023

Tribute

With great sadness, we announce the passing of Larry Borland. He was born in Penticton and raised on Cortez Island.

Larry joined the air force after finishing high school at Max Cameron and met his wife Edna in New Brunswick while stationed at the air base. They were married on a very snowy December 30, 1964, in New Brunswick and moved back to Cortez for a few years. They moved to Powell River, where he worked at MacMillan Blodel until he retired.

Larry loved volunteering. He was a huge nature lover and active with the local outdoor youth clubs. He was dedicated to supporting his community, his friends, and especially his family.

He is survived by his wife Edna Borland, Laureen (Borland) Scheck, Paul Scheck, Rob Borland and Tammy Borland, as well as grandchildren Amanda, Glenn, Tabitha, Samantha, Summer, and Bella, and great-granddaughter Eva.
