Larry Gordon Dewynter

August 4, 1941 - July 26, 2012

Tribute

It is with great sadness we announce that Larry has left us after a battle with cancer. He was predeceased by his wife Diane and is survived by his children Michael (Wendy), Brenda (Marc) and grandchildren Mackenzie and Anna.

Larry was born in Saskatchewan and moved to Powell River as a young boy. He began working for the Macmillan Bloedel mill and worked his way up through his 35 years of service. Larry retired early to enjoy the sun of Mexico and time with friends and family.

Larry loved boating, fishing, hunting and picking mushrooms and salal. He participated in many activities and clubs: baseball in his younger years, 10-pin bowling, curling, lawn bowling and the ATV club. Together with Diane, he enjoyed playing cards with their long-time friends #52.

Thank you to Dr Watson and the staff at Evergreen Extended Care Unit. Your commitment to Larry’s care was remarkable. The family’s gratitude is also sent to Larry’s long-time friends and close family; bless you.

A tea to celebrate Larry”s life will be held on Thursday, August 2 at 2 pm at Powell River Lawn Bowling Club, 5714 Marine Avenue. Family and friends are welcome to attend. No service by request. The family respectfully requests donations in lieu of flowers to Powell River Hospital Foundation.

Larry’s greatest love was his gal Sal; their souls are now together forever
