Born December 19, 1936, in Powell River, BC, Laura Caroline Maurer passed away July 5, 2020 in Powell River, BC. Aged 83 years. She is survived by her loving husband Hans, daughter Laurie (Frank), grandchildren Damien (Jen), Branden, Jeda, Russell and sister-in -Law Fran Otto and family. She was predeceased by her brother Bill in 2015.

We met Carol through cribbage at the Lang Bay Community Hall, and then spent many other happy times with her during various community functions. We are relatively new to Powell River but Carol and Hans are the epitome of why we moved here… good community minded people who work at making others feel include and welcome. We will miss Carol. Our deep sympathies to Hans and the family.
