Leonard Henry Romanyshyn

February 17, 1942 - November 26, 2015

Tribute

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we announce the passing of our father Leonard Romanyshyn on November 26, 2015. Born February 17, 1942, in Frains, Alberta, he was the oldest son of Justin and Mary Romanyshyn’s nine children.

Len is survived by his life partner Shirley Charlton, children Rhonda, Byrne (Helena), Carla and Justyn Romanyshyn, Ed and Tory Charlton, Robin (Chris) Behan, 16 grandchildren, four great-grandchildren, brothers Vic (Bev), Milton (Terry) and Brian (Janice), sisters Jeanette (Wayne) Russell, Elaine (Bob) Roberts, Verna Noble, Gloria (Ray) Gibson and Colleen (Bob) Scott and many nieces and nephews.

The family expresses deep gratitude to Powell River Home Support and palliative nurses. Special thanks to Uncle Milton for his caring, patience and endless support for helping our father through that difficult time.

We would like to invite family and friends to a celebration of Len’s life on Saturday, December 12, at Powell River Town Centre Hotel from noon to 3 pm in the ballroom. Please come and share your stories.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.

Terry and I would like to send our condolences to Leonard’s family. Your dad was a very compassionate person who loved life and we appreciated visiting him in Powell River and the fishing trips he took us on. We will miss him greatly.

We were very saddened to hear of Leonards’ passing. I will always have fond memories of the early days growing up as neighbors and school days. Even though we went separate ways we maintained our friendship throughout our lives. We will miss Leonard and his visits to Grassland. May my dear friend rest in peace. Our condolences to his family. Leonard’s Powell River Family: We are extremely saddened on the recent loss of Len and would like to express our sincere condolences to all of you. We had so much fun growing up and in later years whenever Len and I spoke on the phone it seems all we did was laugh and laugh. He will be so missed. Rest in peace, dear man.
