Maria Concetta Bonnici

Tribute
It is with heavy hearts we announce the passing of our loving mother, Maria Concetta Bonnici, who was surrounded by family at her side as she took her last breath.
Maria was born in Vittoriosa, Malta, and moved to Powell River in 1969. She was the oldest of 13 siblings.
Maria was predeceased by her loving husband Reno in 1996. She is survived by her children Gracie, Joe (Cecil), Jessie (Frankie), Mario (Rina), Anna (John) and Lilian (Yves), 16 grandchildren, 33 great-grandchildren, six brothers, two sisters and their families and many nieces and nephews.
Mom’s passion was knitting. If she wasn’t knitting slippers you would find her knitting dishcloths she gave to everyone who visited her. Mom’s favourite drink was tea and she drank one cup after another. When people would visit her the first question was always, “Would you like some tea? I’ll make you some.” Mom made some pretty good pastizzi, too. She was a great mother to all her kids, always there and ready to help out.
The family would like to thank Erin Berukoff, Dr Takhar, home care nursing staff, palliative care staff and Evergreen Care Unit staff for being there for our mom. If we missed anyone, please accept our apologies.
