Tribute

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother Giuseppina D’Onofrio. She was predeceased by her husband Pietro, her brothers Gino and Pietro and her grandson Zackery. She leaves behind her brother Amedeo Potesta, her four children Lina, Joe, Lori and Frank, her six grandchildren Layne, Tara, Melissa, Shauna and Jorn, and her seven great-grandchildren Ayden, Lochlan, Sophia, Alycia, Jasmin, Wesley and Giorgia. Giuseppina was born in Bagnoli, Italy and immigrated to Canada in 1955 with her husband Pietro and her two small children Lina and Joe. Her husband was able to find employment at the Pulp and Paper mill in Powell River and eventually they were able to purchase a home in Wildwood where they added two more children Lori and Frank to their family. Giuseppina later worked at the Rodney, The Inn at Westview and Beach Gardens where she was a valued employee. She and her husband both loved gardening and grew a variety of vegetables and always had many different flowers in their yard. She was a wonderful cook and baker and her food was enjoyed by all her family and friends. Giuseppina was very proud of her family. She loved them all and never missed a birthday. Thank you to all who were able to attend the church service and reception on Friday, September 3, despite such short notice. The family would also like to thank all the home care workers, nurses and staff as well as Dr. Gahli for the wonderful help and support they gave our mother the last few months of her life. She will be missed by all. Mom, we love you.
