Marista was a great friend of mine and my families. She always attended our “misfit” holiday dinners. Whenever people had to stay in town for work and didn’t have family around, my mom always invited them in. Every holiday I met knew people. It’s just how our family is. Marista was my sisters best friend. They worked and lived life together enjoying the beautiful town we live in. It’s been a difficult tragedy to process and all my love goes out to her family, close friends, and especially my sister who lived life with her every step of the way. Losing someone is complicated no matter how God decides to take us to heaven. Her soul will always be around and I believe with all my heart that the pain has been left in her physical form. I’m unable to make her fu real in Vancouver tomorrow but my two sons and I will be heading down to the lake to say a prayer on her behalf. Grieving is complicated and we all go through the ups and downs in complicated ways. My prayer for everyone at the funeral is that God help you find some clarity, forgiveness, and at least a small unstanding of what life can throw us. Sometimes it’s hard to get back on track. marista, your death will never define who you are, and were to my family. You will be missed at every misfit dinner and there will always be a spot for you. Sister from another mister. So please try and guide my big sis through this complicated time as best as you can while you make your journey through the stages of heaven. Rest in paradise. We’ll miss you. We love you. Until we meet again

Condolences to all family members and close friends of Marista. Such a tragedy to be gone far too soon. I’ll never forget all the time spent together playing cards on lunch breaks and even during class. Rest in peace Marista. You’ll be missed.

I am so sorry to hear of your daughter’s passing. Most people will say they have no idea how it must feel to lose a child, but I do know… my 22 year old son died unexpectedly in February of this year. There is no sorrow so great as this one and I wish your family comfort and peace during this unbelievably awful time. I hope fond memories of Marista fill your hearts and minds. I hope you are surrounded by loving, caring friends and family now and for a long time.

You were so brilliant and so beautiful. I remember you as a little shy, but always smiling. I remember you as a bit reserved, but always giving of your time and dedication. I remember you as an extraordinary team player, full of happiness, full of life. Your smile was like sunshine, your eyes full of tenderness and kindness. I can’t believe that you’re gone…already!
Dear Marista, all of us, Guillaume, Jun, Denis, Sarem, Bamba, Olivier, Leila and I will never forget you. You will be with us, deeply in our hearts. Your beautiful smile, we will remember it forever.

I will always remember our times together in high school and the amount of times we played cards and joked around all through grade nine to twelve. You will be missed and I hope you are happy wherever you are. You were such a good person that always put a smile on my face. Love always

Relation: Friend of Arvind
Dear Arvind :
Barb and I are so sorry to hear the news about Marista. We can especially empathize as we have recently undergone the loss of our eldest granddaughter (19) who died in her sleep from an undiagnosed heart condition. Nobody should have to go through the death of a child or grandchild.
Our thoughts and prayers are with you.
