Nina (Martha) Christina McLeod (née Gustafson)
In loving memory we announce the passing of Nina at age 98. Mom passed away peacefully on August 27, 2014 in Powell River, BC. She was predeceased by husbands George Smith and Mac McLeod, children Bobby Smith, Richard Smith and Doreen Kenmuir (née Smith), grandchild Nina Arrowsmith (née Kenmuir), sister Ellen Scott (née Gustafson and brothers George, Alex, Anselm, Kurt, Albert and Mauritz Gustafson.
Nina is survived by brother Emil (Mildred) Gustafson, sons Bud Smith, Bill (Debbie) McLeod, daughter-in-law Doreen Smith, many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, one great-great-grandchild as well as many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Mom was born in Stockholm, Saskatchewan on February 28, 1916 and moved to Powell River in 1935. She was active in the seniors’ community and shared her love for music by playing piano at senior residences until age 98.

Relation: Niece
No matter their age – it’s hard to say goodbye to our parents. My favourite memories of Auntie Nina all include photos (the camera was never far away) and tape recordings of relatives I’d never met speaking Swedish. My thoughts are with you today.
